Pacers Defeat Battling Bishops, 104-90

RALEIGH -- The William Peace University men's basketball team defeated N.C. Wesleyan, 104-90, on Saturday afternoon in the Hermann Athletic Center. The Pacers picked up their third consecutive victory and are climbing the USA South rankings.

The Pacers and bishops remained relatively close throughout the first half. The Pacers closed out the first half on a 10-5 run to get up 47-36 heading into the break.

The Battling Bishops fought back early in the second half to tie the game at 66, but the Pacers pushed the lead back to a comfortable margin withe the help of threes from Dakota King, Ryan Emfinger and Camdem Ferguson to go along with stellar drives from Chris Thomas and Jalen Vince.

The Pacers were able to hold off the Bishops till the end.

Thomas led the Pacers with 21 points. Emfinger scored 18, Vince scored 16, King finished with 14, Ferguson with 12, and Jay Hicks posted 11 to round out the Pacers double-figure scorers. Ryan Emfinger and Willie Herring each had 10 rebounds. Vince recorded nine assists in the win.
