Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Pacers battled Meredith College on Wednesday evening going to five sets. After swapping victories every other set, the Pacers fell in set five losing 3 sets to 2. The Pacers now have a conference record of (4-1) and (8-11) overall. The Angels now improve to (7-9) overall and (5-1) in conference and rank second in the USA South.
This cross town rivalry game was a well-fought game with a standing room only crowd. The line score concluded, (22-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 10-15).Â
The game was a nail biter from start to finish while both teams were determined to win the match and put points on the board. Â
Carson Williams lead the team with 27 digs, while WPU as a team out scored the Angels 78 digs to 70. WPU's defensive dominance continued with blocks, notching 9 to Meredith's 5.
Sha'Nice Frazier tallied 5 blocks on the night as well as 10 kills. WPU'sÂ
Hailey Stout and
Mya Parks contributed 12 kills a piece with 38 of the team's 45 assists coming from
Liana Solomon.Â
The Pacers face a quick turn around as they head to Virginia Beach for a non-conference match, against the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan. This Thursday night game will be played at 7:00 p.m. The Marlins are (10-6) overall.Â
