CARY, N.C -- The WPU men's soccer team battled hard but lost to Maryville College 1-7 on Friday night. The Pacers are currently (6-10-1) overall and (2-6-1) in conference.

The first half of the game was well fought but the Scots got on the board first. The Pacers had some good saves by senior goalkeeper, Christian Ortiz, but the Scots managed to knock in four goals before the first 45 minutes came to a close.

The second half began with a bang as the Scots scored in the very first minute. The Pacers were fighting back the Scots aggressive offense and managed to score in the 76th minute. With this goal, Senior Chris Deleon notched his 11th goal of the season. The game ended with the Scots scoring 7 goals and the Pacers scoring one.

The Pacers will have their senior day at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, October 21 where they will play Covenant College at 1:00 p.m. The Scots of Covenant College are (6-11-1) overall and (2-6-1) in conference.
