MOUNT BERRY, GA -- The WPU women's volleyball team headed to Mount Berry, GA for the Berry College Tri-Match this Sunday, October 15. The Pacers faced Millsaps College at 2:00 p.m. followed by Berry College at 4:00 p.m., going (0-2). They now drop to an (12-16) overall record.

The Pacers fell 3-0 to Millsaps in their first matchup. Millsaps led for the majority of set one, eventually taking a dominant lead and winning 25-15. In the second set, Millsaps would lead a close game until the set was tied 13-13, where the Pacers took a commanding 17-13 lead. However, Millsaps would fight back and win 25-20. The Majors also controlled most of the third set 25-17, totalling 14 kills in that set alone.

For WPU, senior Carson Williams continued to lead the team defensively with 21 digs.

WPU then faced a tough opponent in Berry College, who won in three sets. Set one started off as a close back-and-forth contest, though Berry would eventually score eight points in a row for the 25-16 win. The Vikings led for most of the second set, winning by ten 25-15. Berry held a dominant lead for most of set three, winning 25-13 with 15 kills in the set.

Against Berry, senior Liana Solomon led with 10 kills, while freshman Bergin Gillespie had 22 digs.

The Pacers will look to bounce back against Greensboro College in a USA South conference matchup on Tuesday, October 17th. Greensboro is currently (11-10) overall and (4-6) in the conference.
