MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- The Pacers took the Pfeiffer tri-match by storm with impressive 3-0 sweeps over Ferrum College and Pfeiffer University. The Pacers improve to (9-10) overall and (6-1) in conference play.
Game one against the Panthers of Ferrum College proved to be a quick feat with a final line score of (25-10, 25-11, 25-18). The Pacers notched 12 service aces and dominated in assists (42-18) and kills (44-20).
Mya Parks led the way for the Pacers in kills (12) while
Brianna Davis (11) and
Hailey Stout (8) followed closely behind.
Liana Solomon contributed a whopping 34 assists and five service aces. Senior,
Carson Williams, led the team with 25 digs.
The Pacers would control the lead for the first two sets and only trailed the Panthers for one possession in the third set.
Game two finished in similar fashion against the Falcons of Pfeiffer University. The Pacers continued to dominate the competition defeating the Falcons (25-18, 25-14, 25-13). The Pacers would notch 16 kills in the first set alone against Pfeiffer, six of those coming from senior,
Lindsay Alford. The Pacers would finish with 38 kills, led by Mya Marks (10),
Lindsay Alford (8), and
Sha'Nice Frazier (8).
Liana Solomon led the team with 31 assists.
The Pacers take the sweep and will carry the momentum into their next conference competition against inner-city rival, Meredith College. The game will be held at Meredith at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4. The Angels enter the match (6-9) overall and (4-1) in conference. WPU and Meredith College are tied for second place in the conference.
