CARY, NC – The William Peace University baseball team was back home Wednesday afternoon, where the Pacers fell to Division II St. Augustine's University, 5-1.

Mikey Anerton and Will Cunningham both finished with two hits for the Pacers (7-11). Cunningham also drove home the only run of the game for WPU. Tyler Tilson doubled in the fifth and eventually scored on Cunningham's sacrifice fly.

The Pacers trotted seven different pitchers out to the mound. Braxton Lamm (1-2) started and was pinned with the loss, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks in two innings pitched.

Hector Pichardo (1-1) earned the win for Saint Aug's (2-17), holding WPU to one run on seven hits and five strikeouts in a complete game effort.

Carey Cheek had two hits and two RBIs. Alexis Garcia and Darrell Langston also added two hits apiece. Cameron Lopez and Corey Brassington both notched one hit apiece and scored twice.

WPU returns to the USA Baseball National Training Complex this weekend for a three-game series against conference opponent against Ferrum College starting Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
