CARY, NC – The William Peace University baseball team fell to Wabash College 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
The Pacers (5-7) fell into a 6-0 deficit in the third inning and could not mount a comeback against the Little Giants (1-5).
Shortstop
Mikey Anerton led the way for the Pacer offense going 2-for-4, with two singles.
Peace starting pitcher
Aron Crumb (0-2) was tabbed with the loss throwing two innings allowing three runs and striking out one. Reliever
Wes Dumford came in and pitched an efficient seven innings, allowing four runs and striking out three batters.
Wabash starter Michael Herrman (1-0) earned his first win of the year throwing a complete game shutout, while striking out five.
The WPU baseball team will be back at the USA Baseball National Training Complex tomorrow for a double header against Eastern University at 12:00pm.
