Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. -- William Peace University's men's basketball program defeated UT Dallas (0-3) on Saturday night, 81-72, in the consolation match of the Guilford College Invitational. The Pacers (2-1) enjoyed a 51-point second-half performance to come from behind to beat the Comets.
Dakota King led the Pacers with 16 points and also grabbed eight rebounds.
Chris Thomas and
Ryan Emfinger earned 10 rebounds apiece and both were active on the offensive boards with three and four, respectively. Emfinger had 14 points while Thomas had 11.
Maurice Canady scored 12 points and
Jalen Vince tallied 11, bring the Pacers double-digit scorers to five for the game.
After getting off to a slow start and falling behind by five at halftime, the Pacers opened put on an a clinic in the second half shooting 51%, earning 10 assists on 16 made field goals, and out-rebounding the Comets 18-6. King, Thomas and Vince were a combined 12 of 14 from the floor to close the game.
The Pacers return home to host Hampden-Sydney College Tuesday night at 5 p.m. in the Hermann Athletic Center.
