DANVILLE, VA – The William Peace University men's soccer team saw their season come to an end on Saturday, as the Pacers fell on the road against Averett University by a final score of 2-1.
After a scoreless first half,
Seth Cranford gave the Pacers a 1-0 lead in the 73rd minute with his third goal of the season.
Chris Deleon was credited with the assist, as Cranford collected the rebound off his ball into the box and put it away.
Five minutes later, though, David Cuperman broke through for the Cougars (8-10, 6-4 USAS), dialing up a long-distance goal. Felix Squire found Daniel Surley for the game-winner in the 84th.
The Pacers finish the season 6-9-2 overall with a 1-8-1 mark in the USA South.
