ROCKY MOUNT, NC – The William Peace University women's soccer team traveled to NC Wesleyan on Sunday, where the Pacers were bested by the Battling Bishops, 4-0.
The Pacers (2-9-1, 1-6 USAS) played well defensively for the majority of the game but were plagued by a brief two-minute stretch in the first half and a three-minute stretch in the second.
Jordan Forbes put NC Wesleyan (7-2-1, 6-1 USAS) on the board in the 23rd minute with the help of Julia Rebellon, who followed with a penalty kick goal in the 25th. Lauren Seegel stretched the lead to three in 83rd, and then Shayla Thorne made it 4-0 in the 86th.
The WPU women's soccer team is back on the road this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. against Division II Chowan University.
