CARY, NC – The William Peace University men's soccer team hosted North Carolina Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon, where the Pacers were bested by the Battling Bishops, 5-1.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, the Pacers (5-7-2, 1-6-1 USAS) pulled even in the 54th minute as
Dylan Shields scored his fourth goal of the season on a corner kick from
Chris Deleon. Kobi Boompong answered less than two minutes later though to put NC Wesleyan (8-4, 5-0 USAS) on top for good.
Alex Andrade dialed up a long-distance goal in the 61st followed by second goal from Boompong in the 65th. Caetano Viegas added one more in the 73rd.
The WPU men's soccer team is back in action this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. on the road against Maryville.
