SALEM, VA – The William Peace University men's soccer team was back on the field Friday night, as they traveled to play in the Roanoke College Soccer Invitational. The Pacers took on Lynchburg College to open the weekend and lost, 7-0.
WPU (0-4) was on their heels from the get go, as Lynchburg (2-1) scored less than seven minutes in. 18 shots later, the Hornets took a 4-0 lead into halftime. Lynchburg's assault continued on the other, as Adam Reynolds scored his second goal of the game in the 56
th minute. Lynchburg went up 6-0 in the 76
th and tacked on another only a minute later.
Kevin Amaya and
Chris Deleon were the only Pacers to get a shot off, while
Tanielu Riley made seven saves in goal.
The Pacers will have a short turnaround tomorrow, with another match vs. the hosting Roanoke College at 6:30 p.m.
