ROCKY MOUNT, NC – Following a win against Piedmont to open tournament play earlier in the day, the William Peace Softball team dropped game two against Greensboro College, as the Pride scored two in the bottom of the first and held on to win, 2-0.
Morgan Farmer (6-7) was pinned with the loss, giving up two runs on six hits in five innings of work. Farmer also collected two of the Pacers' five total hits. Brandi Stamey went 2-for-3, while Lindsey Wiggins also added a hit.
Dawn Harris (11-7) went the distance for Greensboro (22-20) in the win. Brittany Rush went 2-for-3. Allyson Yeager drove in two runs with her double in the first inning.
WPU (19-14-1) plays for their tournament livelihood tomorrow morning against Huntingdon at 10:00 a.m. If the Pacers win in the morning, they will play one more tomorrow afternoon against either Piedmont or Averett at 2:00 p.m.
