GREENSBORO, NC – The William Peace Women's Tennis team picked up their first win of the season Saturday afternoon, topping Greensboro, 8-1.
The Pacers got off on the right foot, winning all three doubles points. At no. 1 doubles, Abigail Nails and Kristen Edwards teamed up to win, 8-5. Alexandra Dixon and Sierra Wyse won at no. 2 doubles, 8-3. Rachael People and Olvia Egbert turned in an 8-4 win at the no. 3 spot.
WPU won all but one of their singles matches. Dixon came out on top at no. 1 singles 6-3, 6-2. Kristen Edwards (no. 2) and Rachael People (no. 6) both registered 6-2, 6-0 wins. Abigal Nails was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at no. 3 three singles, while Sierra Wyse won 6-2, 6-1 at no. 5
The Women's Tennis team returns to their home court for a pair of matches on Sunday, the first being a conference match against Meredith at 1:00 p.m. The Pacers will follow with a match against non-conference opponent Ranolph-Macon.
