GREENSBORO, NC – The William Peace women's basketball team closed their season on Sunday with a loss to the division champion Pride of Greensboro College, 72-42.
Ka'la Jordan tied the game, 8-8, with a triple with 14:06 left in the first, but WPU only scored 10 points the rest of the half and trailed by 17 (35-18) at the break. DeJah Cheatham knocked one in from beyond the arc to open the second half, but it's as close the Pacers would get.
Cheatham hit four three-points for a career high 14 points in only 16 minutes off the bench. Alexis Armstrong recorded eight points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal. Jordan added seven points, three rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal.
Derrica Jones, Krystal Williams and Kate McHale all played their last game in a Pacers uniform. Jones scored six points to go along with 10 rebounds, appropriately enough, as she finishes her career as WPU's second leading rebounder. Williams didn't score but grabbed seven rebounds with an assist and a steal. McHale started her first game of the season and brought down three rebounds.
Greensboro put two into double-figures, led by Tiffani Stephen's double-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots. Syerra Troutman had 10 points, four rebounds and two assists.
