CARY, NC – The William Peace University men's soccer team returned to WakeMed Soccer Park on Tuesday, where the Pacers fell to Methodist University, 7-1.
Enrique Ochoa scored his team leading, fourth goal of the season thanks to a penalty kick in the 58th minute, but WPU (2-10, 2-4 USAS) couldn't keep up with the Monarchs firepower. Methodist (4-4-3, 1-0-2 USAS) scored two in the first half and five more on the other side of the break, three of which came within a 10-minute span.
Fredrick Aalberg and Eirik Nordseth scored two goals apiece, while each of them added an assist along the way as well. Seth Harrison was a factor in each of the Monarchs' first three goals of the second half, netting one in the 54th and assisting the other two.
The WPU men's soccer team will be back in action this Thursday, Sept. 8 at 4:00 p.m., as they travel to face Division II opponent Chowan University.
