William Peace Men's Soccer Falls to Ferrum, 3-1

CARY, N.C. – The William Peace men's soccer team pulled to within one goal of Ferrum College Wednesday night, but a Panthers score in the 81st minute sealed the deal as the Pacers fell, 3-1.

William Peace (3-6, 1-4 USAS) trailed by two at the half, but made it a 2-1 game in the 60th behind a goal from Andrew Suarez, his third of the year tying him for tops on the team.  Eli Grimes picked up his second assist of the season by sending a cross into the box and connecting with Suarez in mid-air who one-timed it past the keeper.

Ferrum (4-5-2, 2-2-1 USAS) put the match out of reach though with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation on Alex Armstrong's second goal of the night.  Terrance Andrews was credited with the assist.

Andrews also put one in the back of the net for the Panthers first goal of the game in the 25th minute.  Samuel Natkin was credited with the assist.

Armstrong made it a 2-0 game in the 34th with the help of Josue Saravia.

The Pacers will return to action this Saturday, Oct. 4 as they hit the road to Fayetteville, N.C. where they will take on the Monarchs of Methodist University.  Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
