Jacob Smith enters his fifth season as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at William Peace University in 2026 after joining the coaching staff in Fall 2022.
Since joining the Pacers, Smith has helped guide William Peace through the most successful stretch in the program’s NCAA Division III history, contributing to multiple winning seasons, conference tournament appearances, program records, and all-region honors.
In 2022, the Pacers posted an 11-6 overall record, setting a program record for wins in a single season while earning the highest conference finish in program history. William Peace hosted a USA South Conference Tournament game for the first time in program history while six players earned USA South All-Conference honors. Kyra Delaney and Raine Greene also became the first United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections in program history.
The Pacers followed with another record-setting season in 2023, once again reaching the USA South Conference Tournament while breaking the program record for goals scored in a season. Emma Avery established new school records for goals and points in a single season while earning United Soccer Coaches All-Region recognition. William Peace also produced multiple USA South All-Conference selections during the season.
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Smith graduated from William Peace University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science while serving as a four-year member of the men’s soccer program.
As a student-athlete, Smith helped lead the Pacers to the 2021 USA South East Division Regular Season Championship, marking the first title in program history for the men’s soccer team and the first conference title for any men’s program at William Peace.
A goalkeeper, Smith earned three All-East Division selections and three USA South All-Conference honors during his playing career. He was named USA South Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021 and also earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region recognition. Following his senior season, Smith was named the 2021 William Peace University Male Athlete of the Year.
