Coach Wootson-Ross  joined the WPU coaching staff in the summer of 2019. Coach Wootson-Ross has several years of coaching experience working in the high school realm as well as with N.C. State University. While coaching at Cardinal Gibbons, she was named the Big Eight Coach of the Year.Coach  Wootson-Ross earned her B.S. in Community Health and Masters in Health Education, both at Florida State University. 

While at Florida State, Coach Wootson-Ross was the first FSU softball Seminole to be named All American as a freshman. Wootson-Ross started in all 273 games and helped lead the Seminoles to an ACC Championship in 2004. In that season, Wootson-Ross was named the Rookie of the Year. Coach Wootson-Ross was one of four athletes in FSU softball history to be named an All-American three times in their career. She ranks in the FSU top 10 in 10 different categories. Coach Wootson-Ross was a 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee as well. She is currently in her last semester at William Peace University in the School of Professional Studies- Adapted Curriculum Spec.
