Bethaney Wells

Bethaney Wells enters her third year as an assistant softball coach at William Peace University, where she works primarily with hitters and outfielders. 

A 2013 graduate from North Carolina State University playing under the direction both Lisa Navas and Shawn Rychcik, Wells was a leftfielder and a designated hitter from 2009-2013, including a redshirt year from 2009-2010 after a knee injury.

In the NC State record books, Wells currently ranks 3rd all-time for career homeruns (30), 5th all-time for career RBIs (97), and 7th all-time for slugging percentage (.484).  As a senior, Wells was an integral part of the Wolfpack’s record setting 2013 season where they were crowned ACC champions. They were selected to the Knoxville, TN regional of the NCAA Tournament where they won two games and had a chance to advance to the super regionals before falling to the University of Tennessee, eventual college World Series runners-up.

Wells graduated from NC State with a BS in Nutrition Science and multiple All-American Scholar Athlete awards.

Wells is from Harrisburg, NC and graduated from Central Cabarrus High School in 2008 where she played for coach Monte Sherrill and won a 2005 NCHSAA State Championship while also being an All-State selection and Academic All-American.
