Women's Soccer Hosts Carolina U On Wednesday

RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace will host its second straight home game to start the season on Wednesday, Sept. 4, against Carolina University. The women's soccer matchup takes place at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. at 4:30 p.m.

Admission is free.

The contest will be the first of a soccer doubleheader. The William Peace men take on Bridgewater at 7 p.m.

A victory would give the WPU women a 2-0-0 start for the third straight year. It would also avenge last season's 2-1 loss to Carolina U after topping the Bruins 3-1 in 2022.

The Pacers will look to duplicate Saturday's performance on defense in a 2-0 season-opening win over Warren Wilson. Emma Avery and Savanna Berckmiller each scored a goal with Kerlyn Navarrete Trejos assisting on Avery's goal.

Carolina U, a NAIA member, are 1-1-0 overall after edging St. Andrews 3-2 on Sunday. The Bruins lost their season opener 2-0 to West Virginia Tech last week. This will be their third straight away game.
