Men's Swimming Opens At Chowan Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace begins its men's swimming season on Saturday, Oct. 19, with a dual meet against Chowan in Murfreesboro, N.C. The dual meet starts at 1:30 p.m.

The Pacers return the veteran cast of Noah Goetsch, Elijah Horman, Jack Lancaster and Joseph Williams. They helped set several school records at last season's Independent South Conference Championships.

Horman won the 200 backstroke for the second straight year and Lancaster broke school records in two individual events - the 100 freestyle and the 50 freestyle. The 200 medley team, including Horman, Goetsch and Williams, broke a school record.

The newcomers are Joshua Day, Stone Doppke, Ruben Garcia and Wilks Smith.

Brad Shannon enters his second season as head coach. His team is scheduled to compete in nine meets including four in Raleigh, N.C. The home sites are the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center on the N.C. State campus and the Pullen Aquatic Center.

The season concludes with the Independent South Conference Championships in Kingsport, Tenn., on Feb. 13-15, 2024.
