Women's Soccer Hosts Salem As Part Of WPU Doubleheader Saturday

Savanna Berckmiller Is Tied For Second On The Pacers In Scoring
RALEIGH, N.C. – The William Peace women host Salem (N.C.) as part of a WPU soccer doubleheader at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., on Saturday.

The Pacers men host Southern Virginia at 4 p.m. followed by the WPU-Salem women's game at 7 p.m. Admission is free to both USA South contests.

A win would help solidify a spot for the Pacers (1-3 USA South, 3-4-2 overall) in the USA South Women's Tournament, which starts Nov. 2. Eight teams advance to the conference tournament and the Pacers are currently eighth, a half-game ahead of Pfeiffer in the standings, with five regular-season games remaining.

William Peace has captured the last two matchups against Salem (0-6 USA South, 4-8 overall) in the season series. The Pacers were victorious 7-1 at Salem in 2023 and 2-0 at home in 2022. Before their two-game win streak, the Pacers dropped five straight to the Spirits beginning in 2012.

Emma Avery sparks the Pacers with a team-high five goals. Savanna Berckmiller and Cate Czyzewski have both scored two goals and Emma Mayer leads the Pacers with two assists.
