Men's Lacrosse Sets Program Record As They Take Down Huntingdon

CARY, NC - William Peace University men's lacrosse defeated Huntingdon College 17-14, picking up their seventh win of the season and setting a new program record for wins in a single season. The Pacers now move to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks would get the game going early in the 1st with Ryan Campion tallying 2 goals to lead 2-0. Caden Bacz would add one more for a 3-0 lead before a goal from Devin Noonan, assisted by Nick Falso, would get them on the board as they trailed 3-1. Paul Gordon would put the Hawks back up 4-1, but goals from Riely Murray and Devin Noonan, would send the Pacers into the 2nd trailing just 4-3.

Drew Von Werne would tie the game 4-4 early in the second, assisted by Riely Murray. Von Werne would add another, this one assisted by Falso, to give the Pacers a 5-4 lead. Von Werne would then find Brewer Warlick for a 6-4 score, while Riely Murray would score on an assist from Nick Falso to lead 7-4. The Hawks would add two back-to-back goals to cut the Pacer lead to 7-6 before a goal from Nick Falso, assisted by William Murray, would put them up 8-6. Ian Bruggeman would cut the Pacer lead to 8-7, but Falso would find the back of the net again, assisted by Drew Von Werne, to send the Pacers into halftime leading 9-7.

The Hawks would continue to battle, cutting the score to 9-8 early in the third. The Pacer offense would explode as they notched 6 consecutive goals - three from Brewer Warlick, one from Drew Von Werne, one from Riely Murray, and one from William Murray - to lead 15-8 heading into the 4th.

Devin Noonan would score on the man-up to put the Pacers up 16-8 early in the 4th. The Hawks would push back, notching four consecutive goals as they trailed 16-12. William Murray would find the back of the net, assisted by Nick Falso, to put the Pacers ahead 17-12. The Hawks would add two late goals, but the Pacers would hold them off to secure a 17-14 win.
