Men's Lacrosse Picks Up Dominant Win Over Wildcats

LYNCHBURG, VA – William Peace University men's lacrosse improved to 2-0 early in the season with a 14-3 win over Randolph College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers would strike early in the first period, with Drew Von Werne finding Devin Noonan in front of the net for a 1-0 lead. Brewer Warlick would increase the Pacer lead 2-0 with 9:12 remaining, with his goal assisted by Nick Falso. Drew Von Werne would notch his own goal with 1:23 remaining to put the Pacers up 3-0.

The game would go back-and-forth in the second period, with neither team able to gain much ground. Brewer Warlick would break the stalemate with 5:18 left to give the Pacers a 4-0 advantage, assisted by Drew Von Werne. Warlick would add his third of the game with just seconds left to send the Pacers into halftime with a 5-0 lead.

The Wildcats would get on the board early in the third period with a goal from Sean Landis as they trailed 5-1. Nick Falso would respond with an unassisted goal to give the Pacers a 6-1 lead. Randolph's Tyler Johnson would cut the Pacer lead to 6-2, but a goal from Devin Noonan would bring the score to 7-2. Falso would add another goal with 6:57 remaining to increase the lead to 8-2. Falso would find Brewer Warlick for his fourth of the game to give the Pacers a 9-2 lead, with Falso adding another with just thirty seconds in to send the Pacers into the final period leading 10-2.

The Wildcats would score early in the fourth period to cut the Pacer lead to 10-3, but a goal from Devin Noonan would put the Pacers up 11-3. Riley Murray would add a goal with 5:14 remaining to put the score at 12-3. Caleb Trahan would increase the lead further with a goal at 4:45, assisted by Charlie Beam, while Adam Braden would add the final goal of the game to secure the 14-3 Pacer victory.
