RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University women's soccer will open up the regular season on Wednesday, September 1st at 4 PM  against Guilford College. The Pacers went 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the USA South Conference in the Spring 2021 season.

Raine Greene led the team with 3 goals and 1 assist, while Kyra Delaney tallied 2 assists and Shaelyn Webb added 2 goals. The Pacers boast 18 returning players, with seniors Makenzie Jones, Amanda Lane, D'Aysha Jones, and Jordan Rogers looking to provide leadership to the team.

Coach Reid Clewis, who is beginning fourth season with the Pacers, is looking forward to the start of the season, saying, "We're extremely excited about our group this year, we've added some important players to our returning established base. The attitude and effort from the group has been fantastic through preseason so far, we look forward to seeing how far it can take us!"

Historically, the Pacers are 0-3-1 against Guilford, having last faced them on September 3rd, 2017. The Quakers went 1-6 overall and 1-5 in the ODAC during the Spring 2021 season, falling in the ODAC Quarterfinals to Washington and Lee. Crystal Rivas and Taylor Rumrill each tallied for the Quakers.

The game against the Quakers marks the start of a 3-game homestand for the Pacers, as they will then face Randolph College on September 4th at 2 PM and Eastern Mennonite University on September 5th at 2 PM. The team will begin USA South Conference Play on September 25th against Mary Baldwin University. The team is 10-2-1 against the Fighting Squirrels and will look to continue that success with the start of conference play.

The Pacers will finish the preseason on August 25th at 2PM against Wake Tech Community College.
