Women's Soccer Makes Program History With Win Over Meredith

CARY, NC -- William Peace University women's soccer defeated Meredith College by a score of 3-0. This marks the first time in program history that the team has won against the Avenging Angels, and is also the first program win for Interim Head Coach Ozzy Peralta.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers would control most of the possession in the first half, though Meredith would get the first opportunity of the game at 2:58 with a shot by Lillian Fox that would be scooped up by Abigail Mosteller. Dayna Kenworthy would challenge Meredith goalkeeper Miranda Lutz at 7:58, but Lutz would keep the game scoreless. Rachel Alford would have a great opportunity at 27:27, but Lutz would again stay strong in net to send the game into halftime tied 0-0.

In the second half, Rachel Alford would control play to set up a chance for Brooke Bonner, who would tuck it away to give the Pacers a 1-0 lead at 50:37. The Pacers would continue to control the game, and a free kick taken by Baylee Womack would find Gabrielle Jones in front. Raine Greene would put the final touch on the ball to increase the Pacer lead to 2-0 at 73:42. Minutes later, Dayna Kenworthy would breakaway and find the back of the net to give the Pacers a commanding 3-0 lead. Abigail Mosteller would make a final save at 89:09 to shutout the Avenging Angels as the Pacers would clinch the game 3-0.
