WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- William Peace University women's soccer fell in 2OT by a score of 3-2. Goalkeeper Makenzie Jones would make 9 saves in net for the Pacers as Gabrielle Jones and Raine Greene each tallied a goal for WPU.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first half, the Pacers would control possession and put several shots up on goalkeeper Jordan Tomberlin. Tomberlin would make good saves on Rachel Alford and Raine Greene to keep the Pacers off the scoresheet. Gina Franco would find the back of the net with 5:36 remaining to send the Spirits into halftime leading 1-0.

Gabrielle Jones would score on the rebound of Rachel Alford's shot at 54:39 to tie the game 1-1 early in the second half. Makenzie Jones would continue to stand tall for the Pacers as she would collect several key saves. At 61:25, Kyra Delaney would find Raine Greene, who would tuck one away to give the Pacers a 2-1 lead. A corner kick would lead to a goal for Salem's Anna Fretwell to tie the game 2-2 at 68:39. Both goalkeepers would keep things shut down to send the game into overtime tied 2-2.

Makenzie Jones would make several saves in the first overtime, with Rachel Alford and Gabrielle Jones adding good opportunities for the Pacers. The Pacers would fall in the second overtime as Ellie Montes would score to give Salem a 3-2 win.
