Pacers Fall In Extra Innings to Muhlenburg

Raleigh, NC - The William Peace University softball opened the Fast Pitch Spring Dreams Classic with a (3-2) loss to Muhlenburg College. The Pacers were scheduled for two games against Muhlenburg, but the second game was canceled due to weather.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first two innings were slow for both WPU and Muhlenburg as pitchers Danielle Hunt and K. Oberg battled to keep the score tied at zero. Muhlenburg would strike first in the bottom of the third as they brought in two runs on a few big hits. The Pacers would respond at the top of the fourth as Nadia Pittman's single to left field brought home Lauren Conway and Abbi Colclough to tie it (2-2). Neither team would gain any ground until the bottom of the eight, with Muhlenburg scoring the final run to win (3-2).
 
PACER TOP PERFORMERS
  • Nadia Pittman was 1 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs.
  • Danielle Hunt pitched 4 innings for the Pacers, allowing 2 runs and recording 3 strikeouts.
FOR THE FOES
  • C. Bridgers was in the circle for the entire game for Muhlenburg as she allowed 2 runs and recorded 5 strikeouts.
