HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE
The Pacers started off slow with Guilford going up early in the first (3-0) on a double by Kylie Richardson and a sacrifice fly by Katie McNeill. Neither team would be able to get on the scoreboard through the next two innings as pitchers Katie McNeill and Danielle Hunt battled. At the top of the 4th, Guilford would get the bases loaded through a few singles and Casey Bunting's homerun would bring in 4 runs for the Quakers as they led (7-0). In the top of the 6th, Guilford would again load the bases, but the Pacer defense was able to get the outs and stay out of trouble. A single by Kristina Mojica in the bottom of the 7th would bring home Lauren Conway, but WPU was unable to make up the deficit and would fall in the first game (7-1).

GAME TWO

The Quakers would get out to another early (1-0) lead at the top of the first, but the Pacers would tie it up (1-1) in the bottom of the first. A single by Candice Smith in the bottom of the second would bring home Kylie Martinez to give the Pacers a (2-1) lead. Guilford would tie it up (2-2) at the top of the 5th, but the Pacers would battle back as Abbi Colclough's double would allow Emily Puckett and Dara Orr to score, giving WPU a (4-2) lead in the bottom of the 5th. Dara Orr's single in the bottom of the sixth would bring the score to (5-2), while Candice Smith's homer would bring in two runs (7-2). The Pacer defense and pitcher Katherine Murphy would hold off Guilford to win game two (7-2).
