GAME 2
  • In the top of the first inning, Olivia Oates got the Pacers on the board with a grand slam.  The Pacers lead heading into the bottom of the first, 4-0.
  • The Cougars scored in the third inning off an error in the field in an attempt to pick-off a steal.
  • In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Cougars cut the Pacers' lead to two, scoring on another Pacer fielding error (4-2).
  • The Cougars tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth inning after errors loaded the bases and runs would score off of a walk and an error.
  • The Pacers took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh inning after loading the bases and Kristen Bailly worked a count to walk in the lead runner.
  • The Cougars would tie the game on a walk as well and the Pacers would head into extra innings.
  • The game would be suspended with the score at 5-5 after nine innings due to lack of sufficient light on the field. The game will be continued on Saturday, April 20 at 1:00 p.m. Should the Pacers win game two, there will be a third game as a tiebreaker to determine which team will advance in the tournament.
  • The game continued in the top of the tenth inning as the Pacers would leave one stranded. In the bottom of the tenth inning, Hannah Thompson would be hit by a pitch. The following batter would lay down a slow rolling bunt where Thompson would advance to third. The Pacers would intentionally load the bases, but the Cougars Zamiyah Mangum, would drill a sac fly to center field, scoring Thompson for the win.
  • The Cougars would win game two, 6-5 in the bottom of the 10th inning, advancing to the second round of the USA South Tournament.
