Fayetteville, NC- The William Peace University women's soccer team fell in a hard fought match against Methodist University on October 30th, in the first round of the USA South Tournament by a score of 0-1. The Pacers finish the season with an overall record of 7-11-1.
In the first half, Haley Jones would get the first chance of the match for the Monarchs just two minutes into the game, Kasey Wilkins would stand tall in goal and save the shot by Jones. Pacer goalkeeper The first goal would come for methodist at 14:38 in the bottom left corner with a shot by Laura Harris and assisted by Haley Bowles. Methodist would continue to test Kasey Wilkins with multiple shots on goal but she would not let them touch the back of the net. Wilkins would continue to keep the Pacers in the game as she would come up with 8 saves in the first half. The Pacers would go into the half trailing 0-1.
In the second half, the Monarchs would continue to put offensive pressure on the Pacers as Miranda Gay would test the keeper early at 47:53, but Kasey Wilkins would make a fantistic save in the bottom right corner of the goal to keep the pacers in the game. Methodist would hold the Pacers offensive at bay in the second half. Methodist would create a handful of opportunities in front of goal down the stretch in the second half but would be unable to convert. The Monarchs would hold on to their 1-0 lead and defeat the Pacers.

The Pacers conclude the season with a 7-11-1 record overall. This season saw Women's soccer program as they set a new record for most wins in a single season as well as making the USA South Conference tournament for the first time in program history.
