Winston Salem, NC-- William Peace University Softball team took on the Salem College Spirits in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. The Pacers fell in both games to the Spirits by the scores of 7-2 and 12-1.
Game One
In game one the Pacers could not hold off the Spirit in the fourth inning. Salem scored 4 runs in the fourth and took a 4-0 lead. They would end up scoring two more runs in the fifth inning. The Pacers would get on the board in the sixth inning. Lauren Conway would get on base via a fielder's choice. After Kristina Mojica was hit by a pitch, Alexa Nemeth singled. This allowed the Lauren Conway to score! Kacy Haithcock would reach on a fielders choice which would allow Skyler Conklin scored. That would be the two runs the Pacer's would score as the final score was 7-2.
Game Two
In the second game the Spirits got off to a quick start. They would go up 6-0 by the fifth inning. Lauren Conway would step up to the plate in the third inning and crushed a home run. This would be the final run the Pacers would score. Salem would go onto score 2 more runs in the fourth and 5 runs in the fifth. The Pacers season would come to an end as they lost game two by a score of 12-1 in 5 innings.
