CARY, N.C. -- The William Peace University women's soccer team faced a tough lost to the Emory & Henry College on Sunday afternoon with the final score being 4-0. The Pacers are now (1-3) overall.
It was a very slow moving first half with the wasp controlling most of the offense. They notched seven shots in the first period. Sophomore,
Kaylea Eubanks managed to tally three saves in the first period in her first game in net for the Pacers. The Wasps managed one goal with three minutes left in the first half. The Pacers continued to fight and had a great shot inside the 18 by Junior,
Alyssa Gasperini, that missed just off of the top of the goal.
Starting the second half the Wasps had the lead with 1-0. As the half progressed the Wasps hit a dangerous corner kick thirteen minutes in that resulted in a goal. The Wasps would secure their third goal just five minutes after their second. The final goal from Emory and Henry would come in the 87th minute. Emory & Henry kept the Pacers off the scoreboard the remainder of the half by ending the game 4-0.
The Pacers will be back in action Thursday, Sept. 14, against Hollins University. The game will be played at a neutral site in Acton, VA at the Smith River Sports Complex at 7 p.m. Hollins will be entering the match-up (0-3).
