Greensboro defeats Pacers in Conference Match

CARY, N.C. -- The WPU women's soccer team fell to the Pride of Greensboro College with a final score of 0-7. The Pacers are now (1-9) overall and (0-4) in conference while the Pride improve to (13-2) overall and (3-2) in conference play.

The game got off to a quick start with the Pride jumping on the scoreboard with back to back goals in the 18th and 19th minutes. The Pacers would hold the Pride to just 7 shot attempts after the two goals, with four of those being on goal and saved by Jessika Schutte.

The second period would include an aggressive attack by the Pride on offense as they brought in five goals in the 45 minutes. The Pacers would fire back with two shots on goal by Lauren Lane and a final shot attempt in the final seconds by senior, Ashley Johnson.

The Pacers look ahead to the weekend as they prepare for Averett University. The Cougars of Averett are (2-6-2) overall and (0-3-0) in conference. The conference match-up will be played in Danville, VA on Saturday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m.
